Åland Influencer 2018


Do you have a burning passion for social media? Do you love photography, shooting videos, writing and talking to new people? Are you curious and enjoy discovering new places? What if you could get paid to do all that, all summer?

Now’s your chance to apply for the world’s funniest summer job.

We are looking for someone who is fluent in both Finnish and English. The assignment will include a full salary, housing for the summer, your own bicycle and electric car to get around, and – perhaps most importanly – a life jacket. Hold on to it!

We guarantee you a fun and educational experience lasting from June to August. As the Åland Influencer you’ll explore the beautiful Åland Islands during the whole summer and share your experiences on the Visit Åland Instagram, Youtube and Facebook with a total reach of 125,000 followers. You will explore many of the islands’ key locations, visit local businesses and attend exciting events.

We will hire two persons to work as Åland Influencer 2018. We will reach out to all applicants before the end of April.

Photography & film

You use a DSLR or the camera on your smartphone every day. You always make sure that your photos and videos are of the highest quality and you always know how to pick the right Instagram filter for the right moment.


You find it easy to express yourself in both speech and writing. It’s a plus if you know how to write witty captions and have a good taste for emojis.


Your tasks will include going to festivals, meeting local businesses and celebrating Midsummer’s Eve. In short – you’ll have a truly enjoyable summer.

Social media

You spend most of your day on social media, keeping up with friends and celebrities while keeping your own channels updated and full of fresh content.

Free accommodation

The assignment includes free housing in Mariehamn, the beautiful little capital of the Åland Islands.

The Åland Islands has 29 000 inhabitants. The islands are a part of Finland, but in many ways Åland functions as a country of its own. We have our own flag, our own parliament that enacts our laws and our very own top-level domain (.ax).

Did you know that there is 912 km of open road on the Åland Islands, 30 bridges and 8 local ferry connections between the islands? This means that you can spend many days travelling around the entirety of Åland.
